A Tradition Worth Sustaining
Small farms and dairies have diminished in number over the years, and with that, we are losing access to artisan-quality food and the traditions behind it. It is so important that these longstanding traditions endure.
With food shortages and a growing population worldwide, sustainable models of agriculture can provide powerful solutions. This ranch represents more than a property, it represents a working example of what sustainable farming, education, community, permaculture and artisan food production can look like, and an opportunity to ensure that this legacy continues for generations to come.
A Piece of Sonoma County Cheesemaking History
For more than 40 years, the property was developed and operated as a small agricultural and artisan-cheesemaking operation known as Bodega Goat Ranch.
The property became part of the community surrounding Sonoma County's artisan cheese movement. The California Cheese Trail historically identified Bodega Ranch as an incubator for cheesemaking businesses, where cheesemakers rented space before establishing their own facilities.
Bodega Goat Cheese was produced and sold commercially from the property, and the business was ultimately sold in 2016.
Today, the property retains the infrastructure and setting that connect it to that history.
Given the property’s unique agricultural infrastructure and history of dairy, artisan cheese production, educational, and hospitality uses, prospective buyers are advised to independently investigate and verify all matters relating to the property and its current or intended use. This includes, without limitation, applicable zoning, permits, licenses, registrations, inspections, regulatory requirements, existing improvements and equipment, and any leases, agreements, or other obligations affecting the property.
Any references to past, current, or potential uses are provided for informational purposes only and are not representations or guarantees that such uses may be continued, resumed, expanded, or modified. Buyers should consult the appropriate federal, state, and local agencies and qualified professionals regarding any proposed use or operation of the property.
